Bolgatanga, Aug. 17, GNA - The Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOSAG), has appealed to President John Evans Attah Mills to intervene to ensure that members of the group were placed under the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).

The Upper East Regional Chairman of CLOSAG, Mr Paul N A Agoo, made the call at a press conference held in Bolgatanga on Wednesday. He said CLOSAG had noted with concern that several appeals made to the Fair Wages and Salary Commission to ensure that members of CLOSAG were put on the SSSS had proved futile. "We have observed with great disappointment that since the implementation of the SSSS by the Fair Wages and Salary Commission, the Commission has ignored members of our Association", Mr Agoo said. He said: 93we therefore wish to state that if our demand for the SSSS cannot be met immediately then we demand an upward adjustment to our salaries, using the Ghana Universal Salary Structure with immediate effect".

Mr Agoo said that CLOSAG had observed that since the implementation of the SSSS, the President had not been provided with true information as to whether members of CLOSAG had been placed on the SSSS.

Mr Agoo stressed that the President should ensure that members of CLOSAG were migrated to the SSSS to avoid any sit down strike as being planned by the group. 17 Aug 11
