CNM-S SRC Week Grand Durbar highlights achievements and future plans

The College of Nursing and Midwifery-Sunyani (CNM-S) has held its 18th SRC Week Grand Durbar, a gathering that not only celebrated the institution's history but also showcased its commitment to innovation and progress.

Speaking at the event, Appiah Ohene David, president of the Student Representative Council (SRC) shed light on past achievements and outlined ambitious plans for the future.

Addressing a diverse audience that included honoured guests, faculty members, and fellow students, David emphasized the significance of the occasion. He underscored the pivotal role played by the SRC in advocating for student interests and fostering a sense of community within CNM-S.

David also highlighted some of the notable achievements of the 18th SRC, including the procurement of a tricycle to enhance accessibility for students who reside outside hostels.

The SRC president also announced the introduction of the Mr. and Mrs. Akwaaba competition, which celebrated the diversity and talent within the student body. This innovative event not only showcased the creativity of CNM-S students but also fostered a sense of belonging and friendship among participants.

Looking towards the future, the student leader outlined ambitious plans for CNM-S, including the revamping of the welfare printing press centre into a modernized facility. This investment is expected to streamline the delivery of learning materials, ultimately enhancing the academic experience for all students.

Meanwhile, David has announced the establishment of a scholarship scheme aimed at supporting students in need. The funds generated from the printing press, according to him, will be channelled towards this initiative, providing financial assistance to deserving individuals and empowering them to pursue their academic aspirations.

He called upon all stakeholders to support these noble endeavours, emphasizing the collective responsibility to ensure the success and sustainability of these initiatives. He also urged individuals to contribute, whether through donations or volunteering, in order to build a brighter future for CNM-S and its student community.
