PRESS RELEASE

The Central Committee of the Convention People's Party was convened in Ho, Volta

Region on Saturday April 17th 2010. Present at the meeting were constituency

executives from all constituencies in the Region as well as many prominent members

of the party in the Region. The purpose of the gathering was to solve the over two

year impasse in the region which has led to several court actions and

non-functioning regional executives.

The CPP wishes to make it clear to its members and the general public that this

matter has now been resolved.

In this regard, as a consequence of a resolution passed at the meeting, the last

legitimate Regional Chairman, Prince Ahiadzro and his regional executives are to

hold a regional conference to elect new regional officers before july 17th 2010.

This exercise is to be carried out in collaboration with the National Organiser,

National Women's Organiser and National Youth Organiser.

Additionally Prince Ahiadzro is to withdraw all outstanding matters in court

relating to volta region cpp by the 23rd of April 2010.

The CPP also wishes to make it clear that the ongoing exercise to review the Party's

constitution shall be completed in April.

Additionally a National Executive Committee shall be held soon to discuss many

important issues including the schedule towards an early National Delegates Congress

to elect new executives.

In the meantime, party members should take note of a recent Central Committee

decision which re-iterated the fact that any act deemed to bring the party's name

into disrepute is a disciplinary offence and shall not be tolerated. In this regard

the the decision called for an immediate ceasefire in the war of words and public

exchanges between former CPP flagbearer contestants, former national officers,

current national executives and other party members.
