Cadet Students urged to join cadet corps in schools

Winneba (C/R), April 27, GNA - The Dean of Student Affairs of the University of Education, Winneba, Dr Ernest Awanta, has advised students to join cadet corps on campuses to have a feel of military training to prepa= re them for the future. He gave the reminder when he reviewed a parade of three officers and= 38 cadet members led by parade commander, Josephine Agyei at the second anniversary and handing over ceremony of the Kwegyir Aggrey Hall Reformer= s Cadet Corps of the University of Education in Winneba. The occasion also coincided with the 11th anniversary of the Airforc= e Cadet Corps of the University. In attendance was the Central Prisons Band from Accra, who entertain= ed the gathering with music. Dr Awanta appealed to the students to take their lessons seriously a= nd eschew all forms of social vices. He asked the female cadet corps to integrate their male counterparts=

into their fold. The Acting Director in charge of operations at the Kotoka Internatio= nal Airport, Flight Lieutenant Agyei Ayittey, who reviewed the University's A= ir force cadet corps, urged members to maintain a high sense of dedication a= nd discipline in a bid to contribute to national development. Earlier in a welcoming address, the second in command of the Female Reformers Cadet Corps Patricia Bafowaa, said the corps would continue to collaborate with the University to lend the required support to the Ghana=

Prisons Service in the quest to reform prisoners. She urged members to continue to exhibit a high sense of patriotism and loyalty to advance the cause of society. Miss Bafowaa appealed to the SRC to support the cadet with funds in order to fulfil her mandate. 27 April 10
