Accra (Greater Accra) 25 Oct. '98 The Central Committee of the Cadres Club, an NGO, has denied media reports that it was formed by a political party. A release signed by Mr M. Allendey Adjola, member of the Central Committee, and issued in Accra at the weekend, said the club was formed to help promote the economic interest of its members and mobilise them for participation in socio-economic activities to improve the welfare of the people. It said the assertion by the "Independent" and the "Dispatch", Accra-based newspapers, that "the Cadres Club was formed by the Reformist Movement is untrue, baseless and therefore libellous". The release said the doors of the club are open to the general public and that it will work with all those ready to abide by its constitution, regulations and rules.
