The United Cadre Front (UCF), an affiliate of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been urged to remain loyal and continue to work with passion to move the party’s agenda forward.

Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Mr Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere, said it should focus on grass root mobilization to broaden the party’s support base.

This was the way to return the NDC to power in 2016.

He was addressing delegates to the Ashanti UCF conference held at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi to elect new regional officers “Cadre-ship as agents for political organization, past, present and future,” was the theme.

Mr Sekyere underlined the need to ensure unity, avoid petty-squabbles and put the common good of the party ahead of individual convenience.

Mr Samuel Yaw Adusei, Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, praised the Cadres for the sacrifices and tremendous contribution to the electoral fortunes of the NDC.

They should help to tell the success story of the government and aid the people to have better understanding of its policies and programmes.

An11-member regional executive chaired by Mr Bismark Nana Yaw Kwabia was elected by the delegates to help bring more vibrancy into the activities of the UCF.

The other officers elected included Iddrisu Ahmed, Secretary, Madam Christiana Kagya, Women’s Organizer, Kwame Poku, Youth Organizer, and Madam Catherine Agyen, Treasurer.

Mr Kwabia said they would not disappoint, pledging transparent and accountable leadership.
