The Eastern Regional secretariat of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah of being a conduit for the preparation of the grounds for chaos ahead of the 2016 general elections.

Addressing the media in Koforidua during a training workshop for NDC communicators, the Eastern Regional Communication Director of the party, Baba Jamal stated, “We call on the National Security to call Rev. Owusu Bempah to order because he is preparing the grounds for chaos in the 2016 elections.”

According to the party, the recent prophecy by the Founder and Leader of Glorious Word Ministry International, that the standard bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, would win the 2016 general elections had the tendency to create division and prepare the grounds for violence.

Baba Jamal said the NDC in the Eastern Region would not allow the NPP to use religion as a platform to plot chaos and create division in the country.

During the programme, the national communication director (Propaganda Secretary), Solomon Nkansah, entreated all constituency communication officers to discharge their duties diligently to ensure the full realization of ‘agenda 50/50’ in 2016, which had been set by the executives in the region.

He advised that the party’s communication officers update themselves with projects, policies and achievements of the government so that they could disseminate proper information to Ghanaians.

Solomon Nkansah stressed the need for the communicators to foster unity in the party.

The Eastern Regional secretary of the party, Mark Oliver Kevor, said despite the challenges facing the country, programmes aimed at improving the living standards of Ghanaians were seriously ongoing, as efforts were being made by government to fix the current energy crisis.

He called on supporters of the party to work hard to ensure that the NDC retains power in 2016.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Antwi Boasiako Sekyere, educated the communicators on the history of the party, as well as contributions it had made to Ghana’s democracy and development.

He advised that the philosophy and the principles of the PNDC should be adhered to at all times as members of the party.

He re-echoed the ‘agenda 50/50’ theme and urged all to work towards it for the party to deliver half of the Eastern Region to President Mahama ensure his second term in office.

He noted that the Eastern Region could never be the stronghold of the NPP because the NDC won massively in that region in the 1992 and 1996 general elections.

John Owusu- Amankrah, popularly known as JOWAK, promised to provide iPads to all the constituency communication officers and their deputies.
