Call for applications for a Night Journalist

Position Summary:

Superweb Technologies Limited is seeking a reliable and dedicated Night Journalist to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for covering the latest breaking news, writing engaging stories, and ensuring timely reporting during night shifts.

This position requires a high level of independence, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to providing accurate, clear, and compelling news to our audience, often under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, write, and deliver timely and accurate news stories for late-night and early-morning publication.

• Cover breaking news events, press conferences, and incidents that occur overnight.

• Ensure content is updated and accurate as stories develop, especially in real-time situations.

• Conduct interviews and gather information from reliable sources, including law enforcement, emergency responders, and eyewitnesses.

• Maintain strong relationships with key sources for overnight news coverage.

• Collaborate with editors and other team members to ensure stories are published on time and meet editorial standards.

• Use content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing tools to ensure all content is published correctly and efficiently.

• Monitor news alerts, social media, and other channels for late-breaking stories.

• Ensure that content is optimized for SEO and follows digital media best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, English, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a journalist, with a preference for night or shift-based reporting.

• Excellent writing, editing, and interviewing skills.

• Ability to handle breaking news situations, particularly under time pressure.

• Strong understanding of the news cycle and the ability to work independently during night shifts.

• Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing tools.

• Knowledge of SEO, digital media trends, and social media platforms is a plus.
