The Accra Metropolitan Authority says the haphazard arrangement of the flags defeats its efforts at beautifying the city. But the parties insist that this is the season for them hoist their flags. They will remove them after every vote has been counted. The AMA, powerless and unable to bite, has since backed down, but its officials are still concerned about the volume of liter that will be produced from the party flags and posters after the elections.
