The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo, has entreated all party faithful to campaign vigorously for victory in the 2016 general elections.

He emphatically stated that although his critics see him as an old man, he would use the little energy in him to campaign massively to win the presidential election.

Nana Addo stated that Ghanaians will never forgive the NPP if it does not capture power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government which has brought a lot of economic hardships on them.

The NPP leader said this when the executives of the party in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa (AOB) constituency of the Central Region paid a courtesy call on him at his residence in Accra on Wednesday and introduced their parliamentary candidate for the 2016 elections to him.

The flagbearer congratulated the executives on the peaceful primaries and called on all the other aspirants to join the winner to canvass more votes for the party in the area.

“I don’t see the AOB seat as an NDC seat since the NPP was able to hold the seat for 12 years, so please close your ranks now,” he advised.

Nana Addo noted that the region, which is a swing one, would definitely determine the victory of the party once again hence, the need for the supporters of the party to tell Ghanaians what an NPP government can do for them when given the nod.

The parliamentary candidate, Mr Anthony Effah, thanked Nana Addo for the warm welcome and promised his commitment to woo more voters for the party in the constituency.

He disclosed that plans were underway to increase Nana Addo’s vote in the area to 82% in the 2016 general elections.

The constituency chairman, Kenneth Essian, prayed that God should strengthen Nana Addo and give him wisdom.

The parliamentary candidate for Assin South, John Ntim Fordjour, also paid courtesy call on Nana Addo.

Mr Ntim Fordjour promised to retain the seat next year, which is being occupied by the incumbent NPP MP, Prof Dominic Fobih.
