Cape Coasters blast Lawyer Essamuah for inciting Fantes against Twi presenters

Lawyer and National Communication's Director for the largest opposition party NDC, Kakra Essamuah has incurred the wrath of listeners of Cape Coast-based Okokroko 96.9fm for inciting Fantes against Twi Presenters in Cape Cost.

The Communications Director was called on Okokroko FM 96.9 by the award-winning morning show host, Osahene Kwame Dapaah to respond to an issue he raised asking Government to place a ban on importation of small arms but instead, Kakra Essamuah towed a tribal line insisting that the presenter speaks Fante before granting him the interview. "Why should you be speaking Twi on a Cape Coast-based radio station he questioned?" live on air.

When Osahene Kwame Dapaah reminded him that, he's a Fante who works in Accra as a lawyer because of the unavailability of High court in Saltpond, he rounded up by threatening to speak to the Presenter's employers, "let's continue I will speak to your employer "

The banter went on live on Okokroko FM 96.9 till the Presenter could not continue the morning show because he was emotionally traumatized.

This comment from high profile person like Kakra Essamuah seem to macho an agenda started by some Cape Coast Presenters putting pressure on radio employers to sack Twi speaking Presenters on air.

If this is allowed to happen, will the big profile presenters like Dr. Pounds, Kwame Dwokoto, Eddyray, among others working in Accra, Kumasi, etc be sacked to go back and work in their towns? the presenter quizzed.
