The embattled subsidiary company of the 31st December women?s movement, Caridem Development Company, has filed a writ against the Divestiture Implementation Committee and the government of Ghana.

The writ which was filed last Thursday, created some panic in the studios of Joy FM on Saturday before the NEWS FILE programme, as the station was served with a letter from the company demanding that the issue be dropped from the discussions because it would be prejudicial.

The directive was a major blow for the panelist including Crusading Guide Editor Kweku Baako who had come prepared to deal with Caridem in his own words.

An audit report has revealed that Caridem, which bought the Nsawam Cannery under the NDC regime, has some outstanding debts to settle by way of interest on the divestiture of the cannery.

The sale has raised questions especially when the 31st December Movement, a group formed by the first lady at the time Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, owns Caridem.
