Two carpenters have been sentenced to two years' imprisonment each in hard labour by the Bibiani Community Tribunal for stealing personal effects worth about 3.4 million cedis, belonging to Mr Carr-John, Assistant Storekeeper of the Ashanti Goldfields Company (AGC) at Bibiani.

Michael Oppong, who was charged with them was found guilty for dishonestly receiving and fined 200,000 cedis or in default to 12 months' imprisonment in hard labour.

Police Chief Inspector Charles Cudjoe told the Tribunal chaired by Mr Benjamin Yaw Osei, on the night of April three, the two broke into the junior quarters of Mr Carr-John, while he was at work, and stole electrical gadgets and sold some to Oppong.

He said a report was made to the Police and after investigations charged them with the offence.
