It has emerged that members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Delta Forces did not only assault the new Regional Security Coordinator in the Ashanti but also made away with his mobile phones and an unspecified amount of money.
Our has been revealed that staff who were also present at the time the thugs stormed the office to violently demand removal of the President’s appointee from his office were also subjected to same severe beatings.
“Everyone here was not spared at all. They indiscriminately beat us left, right, centre like their children” one of the victims narrated her ordeal to mynewsgh.com’s Kwabena Danso-Dapaah.
“We tried to lock all the burglar proof gates because we first got the hint but they forcibly broke the gates and entered. What even annoyed them was when some of us started making phone calls to the police”

The attacked staff say there are refusing to go public over the matter for fear of being victimized by political heads whom they are working under.
“We are civil servants and we are not talking because everyone knows the issue is political. We do not want to be victimized… All we hoping is things will be normal for us to resume our work”
The NPP vigilante group claims they do not know Mr. George Agyei to be a member of the party and therefore doubt his loyalty and commitment as regional security coordinator.
Members of the group earlier issued warning in the media to fiercely reject him if the President does redraw his appoint in the region.
Meanwhile one person has so far been arrested by the Ashanti Regional police command following the raid at the Regional Coordinating Council pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Delta Forces.
The suspect Kwadwo Bamba, a 37-year-old auto mechanic and the organizer of the group is believed to have played a key role in Friday’s violence
According to the Deputy Ashanti Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) Godwin Ahianyo, the suspect t is in their custody assisting in investigations assuring the public that the police will continue to maintain law and order.
