Cashier involved in falsifying Nduom's property document arrested

The Police in the Central region have arrested the cashier of the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo Abirem Municipal Assembly for theft.

The 49-year-old, Kudedzi Kwashie Rufus, is alleged to have falsified official documents leading to under declaring an amount Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum, the Presidential candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) in 2016 presidential election paid as building permit for his University which is being constructed in the municipality.

Confirming the arrest, DSP Samuel Entsuah Annan said the suspect issued original receipt covering an amount of twenty- two thousand Ghana cedis (GHc22, 000) in the name of Dr. Ndoum as the applicant for a building permit but altered the duplicate receipt to reflect only four thousand Ghana cedis (GHc4, 000).

According to the police, Mr. Rufus has been granted bail but still under investigation.
