...despite Ebola scare
The Public Relations Officer for the Catholic University College in Sunyani in the Brong-Ahafo Region, Mr. Charles Alex Cosmos, says all is set for the school to receive students from their semester break.
Mr Alex Cosmos told host of Might FM Morning Show, Shaibu Awudu that the Ebola directive given by the Health Ministry, covers all universities in the country and as such, the Catholic University College is complying. The PRO noted that adequate measures have been put in place to curtail students carrying the disease onto the campus.
He said several consultations have been held between the university and the Ghana Health Service into the preparations of a more suitable ground to welcome students from their vacation back to campus. He expressed frustration over the surveillance and scrutiny being carried out at the entry points into Ghana and said “more should be done to ensure that any Ebola carrier does not even enter the country and subsequently our universities”.
According to Mr Alex Cosmos, the various borders are left lose for entry by foreigners thereby, making efforts by universities to deal with Ebola threat difficult. He therefore charged border authorities to step up efforts in screening foreigners or persons entring Ghana through the borders especially from Ebola - stricken countries to prevent an outbreak.
