The Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish at Sepe Tinpom in the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi, Monsignor Douglas Peter's has cautioned the Youth against social vices.

Speaking at the 43rd annual General Council meeting of Kumasi Archdiocesan Catholic Youth Council at Christian Village, he bemoaned the increasing rate of social vices amongst the youth in Ghana.

He cited the zeal to make quick money at all cost as notable vice that have eaten deep into the fiber of the Ghanaian youth.

He called on the youth to desist from arrogance and wait upon the Lord for a better destined season.

Rev. Fr. James Obour, Kumasi Province Youth Chaplain, expressed worry on low commitment of the youth in our daily lives, National economy and church development.

He charged on the Youth to work on their vision and mission for for better living. "We need sence of commitment to restore our hope" he added.

Assistant Secretary of the Catholic Association of Media Practitioners - Ghana, Ashanti regional Chapter; Mr. Paul Asabre Pinamang on behalf of the association entreated the youth who want to be in the media industry to remain focus .

He said the most important function of journalism is to convey information and conveying information is an important part of the Democratic decision - making system, as it brings transparency into society and for its part makes sure that the made decisions go long with the people's sense of justice.

The opening ceremony was graced by the Archdiocesan Catholic Youth chaplain, Rev. Fr. Kirk Okyere Siabour, Chairman Mr. Michael Owusu Ababio, General secretary Mr. Kenneth Bediako and entire Deaneries and Parish executives.
