Mamponteng (Ash), Aug. 25, GNA - A Clergyman has called on individuals, parents and organisations to collaborate efforts with the Church to eliminate social vices, which is undermining the country's developmental efforts.
The Reverend Father Joseph Boakye-Yiadom, Parish Priest of the Roman Catholic Church at Ejura said, though the Church speak against armed robbery, prostitution, hooliganism, drug abuse and dishonesty, some people continued to live in their sinful ways. He was delivering the sermon at the first mass celebration for Reverend Father Dominic Mensah-Assim, who was recently ordained as priest of the Mamponteng Catholic Church.
Rev Father Boakye-Yiadom said, despite the fact that many people pride themselves of belonging to one religion or the other, the society continued to be engulfed by crime and sin. He urged the newly ordained priest to work hard to win more souls for Christ to contribute the development of the Church. Rev Father Boakye-Yiadom asked members of the Church to pray for the new priest to enable him to discharge his duties well.
Rev Father Mensah-Assim thanked his friends, relatives and other people who helped him to become a priest and said he would discharge his duties well to justify the assistance.
