Cape Coast, April 24, GNA - The Central Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has noted with concern the tension building in some of the political parties as the nation prepares for the December election. In a statement signed by its chairman, Mr Ebo Sackey, and issued in Cape Coast on Wednesday, the branch urged politicians and the public to be circumspect in their pronouncements in their quest for political power.
"The peace of the country supersedes all individual and organization ambitions and we would want to urge the public, particularly politicians, to be careful of their pronouncements".
The branch also urged the members of the association to be professional in their work to help protect the image of the association and expressed its displeasure at the increasing number of impostors in the region. The statement appealed to event organizers to deal with the approved media
institutions and also called on members of the association to weed out such
miscreants from the system. "All members must be on their guard to ensure that no member does anything
to bring the image of this noble association into disrepute", it said.
