Exactly five years after the Central Medical Stores fire disaster at Tema in the Greater Accra Region, a former Director of Supplies at Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Kwasi Addai Donkor wants justice to be served.
He observed that in the wake of the unfortunate incident, some officials were wrongfully and publicly disgraced and sacrificed but nothing seems to have happened afterward.
In an exclusive interview with MyNewsGh.com, Dr Kwasi Addai Donkor wants somebody to gather courage and say sorry for the wrong accusation and injury caused on their hard earned reputation to him and two other colleagues.
He alluded to the irony that, the main ‘suspects’ continue to rise in their jobs and get posted to higher positions which is quite worrying after they were humiliated for a crime they did not commit.
“When this disaster occurred on January 13, 2015 we visited the scene to access the extent of damage caused. We explored other avenues of keeping our items in private warehouses because the Central Medical Stores Warehouse does not belong to the Ghana Health Service. I was the leader of a committee in that respect”, he revealed.
Continuing his account he said “on Monday after the incident, I was on my way to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi for an Academic Board meeting when someone called to inform me that I had been interdicted together with two others”
