Central regional Minster calls on Cape Coasters to retain NDC in power

The Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Ama Benyiwa Doe, has appealed to the electorate of Cape Coast to vote massively in the December polls to retain the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in power.

She asked them to consider the numerous development projects being executed by the Mills-led government and give the party another four-year mandate to enable the government to complete the projects it had initiated.

“This would ensure that the people of Cape Coast get their fair share of the national cake as this government continues with the implementation of the Better Ghana Agenda,” she said.

Mrs. Benyiwa Doe was addressing more than 500 members and supporters of the NDC, who defied the Sunday heavy rains to participate in a health walk as part of activities to mark the 20th anniversary of the party.

The walk started at the Robert Mensah Stadium, through some streets of Cape Coast and ended at the “London Bridge.”.

The Regional Minister promised to do her part to ensure that all the development projects due the region were effectively executed.

The Member of Parliament for Cape Coast, Mr. Ebo Barton Oduro, supported the request of the Regional Minister, saying the NDC would properly address the problems of the people when retained.

He cited the free school uniforms, exercise books, construction of classroom blocks and dormitories, expansion of the Capitation Grant and the School Feeding Programme and the modern market complex at Kotokuraba under construction as some of the projects the Government had provided.

Mr. Anthony Egyire Akins, the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Cape Coast, said it was only a government in power that knew the “root problems” of the people and would be able to initiate pragmatic solutions to them.

He said President Mills had been able to fulfill almost all his campaign promises and urged Ghanaians to reciprocate the gesture retaining the NDC in power. **
