Ceremonial opening of Parliament is on Jan. 20, 2004

Accra, Dec. 18, GNA- The ceremonial opening of the First Meeting of the Fourth Session of Parliament would come on January 20, 2004 with some business which for some reasons could not be disposed of during the Third meeting of the Session of the Fourth Republic.

Other businesses to be considered include bills and referrals to Committees.

Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs announced this on Thursday when he presented the Business Statement for the first meeting of the fourth session ending, Friday January 23, 2004 to mark the end of the Third meeting of the Third session.

He indicated that all normal questions as well as Urgent questions that could not be answered will remain valid and would be carried over to the next meeting and dealt with accordingly as well as all bills referred to committees would remain valid and carried over to the next session for the consideration of the House.

During the first week of the its sitting, the Ministers of Roads and Transport, Energy, Education, Youth and Sports would appear before the House to answer questions
