The youth have been admonished to be proactive to impact the world positively instead of allowing the negative trends of the world to influence them.
By honouring God, maintaining integrity, being visionary, using technology positively, managing time and resources-- the youth can make great impact on their generations.
These were some nuggets of advice from speakers at the 21st edition of the Annual National Youth Conference of the Churches of Christ held at the Sunyani Technical University on the theme, " The Christian Youth in the Midst of a Fast-Changing World."
Speaking on the topic, "Managing the Present Social Change as a Christian Youth," the Minister of the Winneba Central Church of Christ, Mr. Alexander Maxwell Yawson charged the youth to lead lives of purity and impact their communities and spheres of influence through godly service.
According to the President of Heritage Christian College, a university in Amasaman, Dr. Samuel Twumasi-Ankrah, "Many people go through life without discovering their God-endowed vision and let alone fulfilling it. This explains why many individuals go through life experiencing hardship and poverty, and end up as miserable failures." He urged the youth to set 'Big-Holy-Audacious Goals,' adding that the decisions the youth make today will determine their future.
An Evangelist at the Sunyani Church of Christ, Mr. Emmanuel Boadu Ayeboafo advised Christian youth to avoid materialism (get-rich-quick mentality) that leads them to all kinds of social vices and let the love for God guide them in all they do.
On time management, the Minister of the University of Cape Coast Church of Christ noted that, "Time management begins when one is aware of one's life purpose which is revealed only in God. Once purpose is known, one must set goals, plan in advance, learn to prioritize, become conscious of negative consequences of actions and inactions and use technology to manage the commodity called time."
The 21st edition of the youth conference saw over 2000 youth from across Ghana in attendance.
