Gomoa Dominase (C/R), Sept 2, GNA - The Founder and Leader of the Nyame Ntse Prayer and Herbal Centre at Gomoa Dominase in the Central Region, the Reverend Job Kofi Anim, has called on the government to put in measures to curb the spate of killings in the country in recent times.

He said the killing of some citizens in cold blood by unidentified gunmen could disturb the peace and stability of the country and people of Ghana.

Rev Anim was addressing a news conference at Gomoa Dominase on a vision he said Gad had revealed to him about the spate of killings in the country and steps the government should take to avoid God's anger. Citing the Biblical history of Cain and Able when the two brothers were asked to sacrifice their fat sheep but Cain killed the latter because God did not receive his offer.

He pointed out that the killing of Able attracted God's anger, which brought "trials and tribulation" to the land and Cain because he spilled innocent blood.

"The killings can take away the peace of the country and affect good governance, rule of law and respect for humanity if the government does not do anything to curb them," he said. According to Rev Anim, it was revealed to him in the vision that if the government did not act to stop the killings, "God himself will act violently," which would affect the country's socio-economic advancement.

He expressed concern about "False prophets and prophetesses using the Bible to exploit the innocent," who out of desperation fell on them for answers to their problems.

The Rev Anim called for thorough investigations into the background of Pastors by the Christian and Pentecostal Councils before they were registered to operate churches to reduce the exploitation of congregations.
