Agona Swedru, April 9, GNA - The Ghana Standards Board (GSB) has been urged to check the sale of used razor blades on the market. Speaking to the GNA at Agona Swedru, Ms Alberta Bruce, a Final-year student of University of Education, Winneba, noted that some people re-packed used razor blades for sale to the unsuspecting public to amass wealth at the expense of the health of Ghanaians.

She told the GNA that she bought a packet of the product certified by the GSB at the Agona Swedru market about two weeks ago but could not use them because when she opened it all had been used with three mangled "like an old cutlass".

According to Ms Bruce all the five razor blades had been re-parked and ceiled and covered.

Ms Bruce expressed concern about the health of Ghanaians since used blades were a source of transmitting HIV/AIDS. Mr John Arthur, Station Master of the Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA), also expressed the same concern and appealed to the security agencies to assist GSB to track down those engaged in the act to help curb the spread of HIV/AIDS and other strange diseases. 09 April 06
