Accra, Feb. 9, GNA- The Department of Chemistry of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has developed a high quality indelible ink that could be use to ensure voters cast ballot once during elections.

The breakthrough was as a result of a long and careful research that involved formulation and testing.

This was contained in a report presented by Professor Kwesi A. Andam, Vice-Chancellor of the University at its 37th Congregation held in Kumasi at the weekend.

The report said the ink was comparable to the one imported and used for the 2000 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. It said the Department had contacted the Electoral Commission (EC) to secure the contract to produce the ink on commercial basis.

"The Department hoped it will be awarded the contract", it said.
