Nana Boakye Dankwah Okokodurofuor, Chief of Fawohoyeden in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Brong-Ahafo Region, has appealed to the government to complete the police station project in the area.
Work on the project, initiated by the people in 2007, is about 55 per cent complete.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Nana Okokodurofuor said several appeals made to the assembly for assistance had fallen on deaf ears.
He said the people alone could not continue with the project for lack of funds, therefore, an urgent assistance was needed.
Nana Okokodurofuor said Fawohoyeden, with a population of about 4,000, had no police station to control crime and that issues involving crime had to be settled at Ayomso or Goaso, a situation that did not augur well for security.
