Coaltar, (E/R), Oct. 13, GNA - Barimah Owusu II, Coaltarhene on Sunday commended the government for implementing the on-going contract for tarring the 27-kilometre road from Adoagyiri through Coaltar to Owuram in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District.

Barimah Owusu made the commendation at a durbar held at Coaltar by the chiefs and people to discuss developmental projects in the area. He said for over 20 years, the road had been in a deplorable condition and now that it was being rehabilitated, it would ease the difficulties farmers go through in carting cocoa and foodstuffs from the area to marketing centres.

Barimah Owusu assured the government of the support of the people to complete developmental projects in the area.

Mr. Emmanuel Dartey, NPP Chairman of the Ayesuano constituency expressed gratitude to the chiefs and people for showing appreciation to the government for the number of projects it has executed in the area, including the construction of a clinic.

He said the government is prepared to construct more roads, schools, clinics and sinking of boreholes in the rural areas to enhance the living condition of the people.

Mr Dartey called on the people to vote once again for the present NPP chairmen and MPs since their four-year term in office was too short for them to live up to expectation.

Mr. Godfred Otchere, Member of Parliament for the area who chaired the function appealed to the party executives and the polling agents to organise a series of education campaign to win more voters for the party.

He said: "The longer we stay in office, then we would know your problems and find solutions to them."
