Sanka(C/R), Dec 21, GNA - The chief of Sanka near Elmina, Nana Kwame Essuon IV, has presented learning materials and games including pencils, pens, erasers, rulers and exercise books as well as biscuits worth GH¢700 to pupils of the Sanka M/A Primary School. Making the presentation Nana Essuon said the learning materials were donated by pupils of Bellville Primary School in Wandsworth South, London, while the games and biscuits were his personal donation. He stressed the need for children to be supported to grow up to become responsible citizens and urged the children to study hard. Nana Sanka said he had instituted a prize-giving day to reward hardworking pupils who also attend school regularly. He appealed to parents to refrain from taking the children to farm during school days. The head teacher, Ms Anastasia Van-Dyck, expressed gratitude to the chief and also advised the children not let his efforts go waste. 21 Dec 08
