Chief expresses disquiet over delay of Ankwa Dobro - road

Nana Mbiah I, Mponuahene of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, has appealed to the Government to investigate the delay in the construction of the road from Ankwa Dobro to Apedwa Junction.

The contract was awarded to China Rail Way contractors.

Nana Mbiah, who is also a Prophet at Guankobia Prayer Ministry at Teacher Mante in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District, said due to the poor nature of the road, a number of accidents had occurred in the area claiming many lives including school children.

He said the dusty nature of the road is also creating health problems for the people.

Nana Mbiah who made the appeal at a press conference at Nsawam, said if serious attention was not given to the situation many lives would be lost on the road.

He said because of the bad nature of the roads, passengers are attacked by armed robbers on the stretch from Adoagyiri to Suhum.

Nana Mbiah called on the Roads and Highways authorities to take immediate steps to see to the commencement of work on the road.**
