Tarkwa, (W/R) March 11, GNA- The Tarkwa Circuit Court, has remanded Nana Issaka, Chief of Amoaya Zongo, a farming community near Sefwi Asawinso and three others into prison custody for allegedly assaulting and raping a 24-year old married woman and molesting her husband. The three other accused persons are, Ismaila Atobugah, ex-husband of the victim, Mohammed Ayarigu and Yaw Alardago.

Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah told the Court presided over by Mr John Ajet-Nasan that the raped woman divorced Atobugah eight years ago due to maltreatment.

He said her estranged husband demanded 2.6 million cedis, been the cost of going round looking for her and when she could not raise the money, Atobugah took offence and organised a crowd that beat up the victim and her husband at gun point.

The four accused persons took advantage of the situation and raped the victim.

They will re-appear before the Court on March 30.
