Akrofrom (B/A), Nov. 29, GNA - Nana Yeboah Ameyaw II, Chief of Akrofrom in the Techiman Municipality, has called on the people to do away with their political differences and work together for national development.

"It is only when unit committees, Assembly Members, traditional authorities, students and other members of the society work as a team that there could be meaningful development in their areas," he said. Nana Yeboah was speaking to Ghana News Agency in an interview at Akrofrom after a massive clean-up exercise organised by students in the town. They weeded bushy areas and cleared chocked gutters. The chief commended the students for their concern for environmental cleanliness and urged others to emulate them and keep their surroundings clean to avoid an outbreak of communicable diseases such as cholera.

Nana Yeboah appealed to livestock owners to confine their animals in pens so that they would not roam to destroy people's crops, warning that violators would not be spared.

The chief asked the people to be ware of the approaching dry weather and avoid bush burning.
