Awutu Mankessim (C/R), Jan. 16, GNA - Two key opinion leaders in the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District of the Central Region, have commended the Chief Justice, Mr George Kingsley Acquah for his tireless effort to transform the country Judiciary Service.
They also praised the immediate past Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Peter Ala Adjetey for the excellent contributions he made towards the sustainers of democracy in the country during his four-year term.
The commendation came from the Senior Bishop's Deputy of the AME Zion Church, Rt. Rev. Godfred Zormelo, and Nai Kwaw Otuo V Chief of Awutu Mankessim at separate interviews at Winneba and Awutu Mankessim. The two stakeholders recalled the numerous measures initiated by Justice Acquah last year to instil a deeper sense of discipline, honesty, dedication and commitment in workers of the Judicial Service.
According to Rt. Rev. Dr Zormelo and Nai Otuo, the measures taken by the Chief Justice appears to be yielding promising result which needs to be encouraged by all level headed and peace loving Ghanaians for more success to be chalked up by the sector.
While advising the Chief Justice to ensure speedy disposal of all outstanding cases in the courts, the two prominent personalities urged the government to provide adequate logistics and funds to back the Chief Justice in the transformation exercise of the Judicial Service.
This, Rt. Rev. Dr Zormelo and Nai Otuo hoped this would go a long way to accelerate the pace of development of the Judicial Service and inspire the workers to be dedicated to their duties in order to make the rule of law and good governance a success.
On the performance of the former Speaker of Parliament Rt. Rev. Dr. Zormelo and Nai Otuo described his work as quite splendid and urged the new Speaker of Parliament to emulate him for the development of Ghana's democracy.
