The Paramount Chief of Nsein Traditional Area in the Western Region, Awulae Agyevi Kwame II, has said the chiefs of the region will be offering sacrifices to thank the gods and ancestors for supporting Ghana to come out victorious in the maritime boundary dispute with Côte d'Ivoire.
Awulae Agyevi Kwame II, who was speaking at an engagement with the traditional authorities under the auspices of Tullow Ghana Limited (TGL), said a day will be set aside to commemorate the victory.
The Special Chamber of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) ruled that Ghana did not violate the sovereign rights of Côte d'Ivoire with regards to the maritime boundary dispute.
Judge Boualem Bouguetaia, President of the Special Chamber on Saturday, September 23 2017 read that: “Ghana did not violate the provisional measures prescribed by the Special Chamber in its order of 25 April 2015.”
