Cape Coast, Dec 22, GNA - Dasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII, the President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, has appealed to chiefs not to meddle in cases before judicial committees in their traditional areas to avoid influencing decisions by the committees. He expressed concern about the rise in chieftaincy and land disputes in the region when the House held its General Meeting at Cape Coast on Tuesday.

Dasebre Kwebu Ewusi commended the Standing and Research, Mediation and Arbitration committees for their performance within the year but expressed his displeasure about the low performance of the Finance, Welfare and Development committees of the House. The House complained about President John Atta Mills' inability to fulfil his campaign promise of renovating the Region House of Chiefs building.

They also expressed their displeasure about the failure by Mrs Ama Benyiwa Doe, the Central Regional Minister, to honour her promise of giving the House a facelift. The chiefs appealed to the President not to concentrate industries in only the oil producing region but to cite some in the Central Region as well. They appealed to the public to step up the campaign for peace, unity and development in all traditional areas to facilitate the development of the region.
