Children feted at Kids Annual Festival (KIDAFEST)

Berekum (B/A), March 10, GNA- Captain Nkrabea Effah-Dartey (rtd), Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development at the weekend urged eligible persons to register when the voters' register is opened. Capt. Dartey, Member of Parliament for Berekum was addressing a cross-section of the people in the constituency during the celebration of Kids Annual Festival (KIDAFEST) of All for Christ International Primary and Junior Secondary Schools at Berekum.

Voting is the civic right and responsibility of every Ghanaian and all eligible persons should register to show their commitment to national development, he said.

The Deputy Minister commended the establishment of a cadet corps in the school to prepare the students towards security services. He advised the students to be disciplined and to take their education seriously towards achieving their ambition.

Apostle Joe Yankyera, proprietor of the school in a welcoming address commended the staff for their unity, co-operation and hard work that had promoted the steady development of the school. He appealed to the MP and the District Assembly to assist in equipping the school's library with books to enhance teaching and learning.

The Proprietor asked parents to pay regular visits to the school to interact with teachers to acquaint themselves with problems facing their children and assist in addressing them.

Mr. Andrews Fordjour, headmaster of the Junior Secondary School (JSS) appealed to parents to pay school fees promptly as delays in payment affected management of the school.
