Latest information gathered by MyNewsGh.com reveals that Bettie Jenifer was battling a divorce case with one Kedrick Jenifer filed on April 4, 2019, before her murder last Friday evening by an unknown gunman.
It is not known if Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh was aware Bettie was married and had not fully nullified the said relationship before both walk down the aisle in October 2018.
But details emerged that Kedrick Jenifer had filed for “absolute divorce” and was seeking some relieves from the Circuit Court of Prince George’s Country – Civil System with a motion for “account for assets” and “for an injunction to prevent dissipation of assets”.
Sources from the grapevine suggest Kedrick who is in jail over drug-related issues, threatened Bettie after seeing photographs she had taken with Chris Attoh.
It would be recalled that Ghanaians on Saturday morning woke up to the news about how the deceased was shot while leaving her office by an unknown assailant.
Police though have not been able to identify the person reported to have committed the dastardly act, the described him as “a black male with a thick build and black hair, wearing a dark shirt and pants.
Bettie Jenifer, according to the report left the office in the 6300 block of Ivy Lane and was walking to her car when the man armed with a handgun approached her.
When she tried to run away, the man followed her and fired at her multiple times, with at least one shot hitting her.
The gunman then fled in a vehicle and is still wanted by the Maryland Police.
