Christ Apostolic Church International launches centenary anniversary

The Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI) has launched its centenary celebration dubbed: “100 years of impacting the world through Pentecostalism,” at a ceremony in Accra.

The celebration also witnessed the launch of the CACI new logo.

The Chairman of the CACI Apostle Dr Stephen K. Amoani called on Ministers of God to stop the monetisation of the word of God, inordinate materialism and insatiable desire for money and power by renewing their commitment to serve God.

“Let us also re-examine our ways of life and rededicate ourselves to much more prayers and care for the flock.”

Apostle Amoani appealed to the government to appreciate the leadership skills of the youth and reactivate their involvement in the development of the country.

According to him, the youth are a vibrant force whose energy ought to be channeled to good and productive use.

“Our youth need to be motivated to greater heights and be offered a better vision of themselves,” he said.

The CACI Chairman admonished the youth not to choose popular opinions and attitudes on things such as abortion, sexual immorality drunkenness.

He recounted that the country despite its economic emancipation and high morale standing it was still grappling with poverty and unemployment, youth indiscipline, morale decadence and deteriotating public service.

However, Apostle Amoani said all was not lost and urged Ghanaians to invoke the grace of God by living a “soberly and godly lives”

“If our politicians will think more about the welfare of Ghanaians interest and not of their personal gains and if Ghanaians will think of what they can do for Ghana and not what Ghana can do for them we shall overcome out current socio-economic difficulties,” he noted.

Touching on the CACI’s centenary celebration, Apostle Amoani observed that the occasion marked a milestone in the history of the Church recounting its social responsibilities extended to the society.

According to him the Church had not only offered spiritual needs of people but had extended education, health and agricultural needs to them as well.

He said as the church marked its 100 years of existence it would not forget to pay tribute to its forefather especially Apostle P.N. Anim the Founder, whose role led to the spread of Pentecostalism in Ghana and abroad.

‘Let us rekindle the Pentecostalism in us join hands together to earnestly continue in the footsteps of our fore fathers as we anticipate with hope the fulfilment of God’s promise in our lives,” he added.

Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, Chairman, Church of Pentecost paid tribute to the Founder of CACI, saying as the father of Pentecostalism he was also the father of faith.

He admonished Christians not to move from one pastor to another but pray for themselves as: “Christ in you is the hope of glory.”

He said the church was worried over the selling of scared things to people, pointing out that the public also have the power from God to pray.

Apostle Emmanuel O.K. Donkor, General Secretary, CACI recalled that obedience, tenacity, and commitment of the church’s Founder, had given birth to churches all over the world.

Apostle Donkor said it was important that as the Church celebrated its anniversary, Christians remained united and break new grounds for the Lord Jesus Christ.

CACI, founded in 1917 began as a prayer group. Branded as the first Pentecostal church in Ghana, it has many off-springs such as the Apostolic Church, Church of Pentecost and other charismatic churches.
