Bishop David Doe Tamakloe, General Overseer of the New Jerusalem Healing Ministry, has called for the development of a comprehensive policy to empower the youth to develop their talents.
He said everything possible must be done to enhance the welfare of the youth, being the future leaders of the nation.
Bishop Tamakloe made the call at the opening of this year’s Youth Leadership Conference, organized by the Ministry at Dunkwa-on-Offin at the week-end.
About 250 youth from three branches of the Ministry and other churches are attending the four-day event, which is on the theme: “Enhancing Youth Leadership.”
It is aimed at sharpening the leadership skills of participants and to equip them with techniques to enable them to face challenges.
Bishop Tamakloe asked Ghanaians to rally behind the government to ensure national development.
He urged religious leaders to educate their members on government policies and programmes, saying his vision for the church was to strengthen the teaching ministry through the Bible class system, and also seek to expand the resources and financial base of the Ministry.
According to him, the headquarters of the ministry at Dunkwa-on-Offin was working out plans to acquire large hectares of land to embark on Agriculture, such as crop production and fish and animal rearing.
He said if the project was successful, the Ministry could finance its programmes, without levying the members.
He called on Ghanaians, particularly Christians, to give towards the work of God to ensure that the gospel of Christ is spread throughout the world.
