Christians must promote mediation instead of conflicts

Accra, Nov. 14, GNA - Apostle Daniel Kissi Bordoom, resident pastor of the Mamprobi branch of The Apostolic Church, Ghana, has appealed to Christians to champion mediation as the most cost effective means of conflict resolution. He said confrontation and other violent acts that are used in settling scores only threaten security and those who resort to them often pay a higher price.

Apostle Bordoom, who was opening a seminar for more than 400 elders and deacons of the church said as Christian leaders the participants should never condone not any act of violence or strife but rather but rather engage actively in conflict prevention and mediation mechanisms. "As the light and salt of the world, seek peace, harmony and brotherliness wherever you find yourselves," he advised. "By so doing, you help strengthen the peace and unity in the church and the society as a whole."

Pastor George Bright Aidoo, the Mamprobi District Pastor of the Church, who spoke on "A Successful Marriage", advised Christian couples to live in peace, love and respect each other, always praying together. He said when they conduct themselves admirably, both Christians and non Christians would follow their examples and seek counselling and support from them to preserve the institution of marriage. Pastor Aidoo said marriage is a divine institution in which a couple enter into a covenant and no one should destroy it. 1
