Togbe Kotoku XI, Paramount Chief of the Kpetoe Traditional area on Good Friday challenged Christians to ensure that the 2012 elections were peaceful.

Togbe Kotoku said this in a sermon to mark Good Friday at the Jubilee Christian Centre in Ho.

He asked them to be at peace with everybody, irrespective of their political affiliations, adding that, Christianity was about peace and love, and urged Christians to demonstrate “true love” for mankind just as Jesus Christ did when he was crucified for the sins of the world.

Togbe Kotoku asked them to pray without ceasing and intercede for the Electoral Commission and political parties and their leaders.

“We must die a little for the nation. That is why we are Christians, we have to intercede and ensure that peace prevailed,” he stated.

Togbe Kotoku also called on traditional authorities to preach peace and ensure that their areas were peaceful before, during and after the elections.**
