Christians urged to help solve nation's problems

Sunyani, April 10, GNA- The Reverend Richard Owusu Akayeaw General Overseer of Living Great Ministry in Sunyani on Friday urged Ghanaians to stop complaining about hardship and rather work hard towards the solution of problems. Preaching at a Good Friday church service, he noted that the economic problems that Ghanaians were going through could not be compared to the suffering that Jesus Christ went through on the cross. "Christ, in all his suffering kept mute and did not complain but rather looked unto God and at the end attained glory and was given authority over all things", he said.

Rev. Akayeaw said God, mindful of the suffering of Ghanaians would address them and urged the citizens to put their trust in the Lord at all times. "Christ is the maker of all things and would provide in abundance for his people", he said adding that only those who knew God could survive in these hard times.

The General Overseer stressed that the death of Christ was very significant to mankind "as he carried out inequities on the cross" and asked believers to observe the occasion meaningfully. At the Ebenezer Methodist in Sunyani Rev. Samuel Gyasi Boateng, Superintendent Minister of the Nkwabend Circuit of the Methodist Church emphasized that the death of Christ was the foundation of every church and must be regarded as such.

In his sermon, he stated that Easter was the time for every individual to repent from all inequities and to love one another to promote peace and tranquility to accelerate national development.

He urged Ghanaians, particularly the leadership to avoid selfishness and conflict of interest so others could benefit from their activities. He noted that unity was the only way to move the country forward and called for reconciliation among people in their respective communities.
