Abbontiakoon (W/R), July 17, GNA- Churches have been advised to invest part of their earnings in profitable ventures so as to help create more employment for the youth.
Osagyefo Kwamena Enimil VI, Omanhene of Wassa Fiase traditional area said this would supplement the Government's efforts to improve the social and economic lives of Ghanaians. The chief was speaking at a thanksgiving service to climax the weeklong celebration of the annual Patronal festival of the Saint Peter's Anglican Church at Abbontiakoon, a suburb of Tarkwa.
The Omanhene said both religious organisations and the state have to complement each other's efforts to improve the spiritual, social and economic lives of the people.
Osagyefo Enimil noted that monies, raised by the Churches through various individual contributions and other means could be used to establish businesses, instead of saving them in the banks. The Reverend Father John Kwame Adarkwah, assistant priest of the Essikadu Saint Mark's Anglican Church asked Church leaders to intensify evangelism to win more souls for Christ.
