Accra, (Greater Accra) 23 Jan. '99,
An inter-denominational service was held in Accra last Saturday to mark the first anniversary of the death of Dr Hilla Limann, President of the Third republic. The ceremony, which lasted for just an hour at the Ridge church was officiated by Rev. Dr. Ayete Nyampong, resident Presbyterian chaplain, Rev.Fr George Neequaye, Anglican chaplain and Rev. Mpere Gyekye, Methodist chaplain. It was attended by some government officials, political party functionaries and people from all walks of life.
Dr Issah Egala, a family member who read Dr Limann's biography, noted that Dr Limann had to learn to survive in the face of difficulties and yet strove for excellence in all he did . He therefore challenged the Nkrumaist family to work hard to survive in the manner of Dr Limann since there would be no success story without going through it the hard way. Dr Egala added that during Dr Limann's tenure as president he tried to serve all without favour or malice .
Present at the service included ,Mr Kojo Botsio, chairman of the Convention Party, Dr Edward Mahama, leader of the Peoples National Convention and family members of Dr Limann. GRi
