Kumasi, April 27, GNA - The Church should not depend solely on offerings and tithes for development since that could be counter-productive to its sustainable progress, Reverend Alexander Adu-Sekyere , District Minister in-charge of the Bantama Presbyterian Church, has said. He noted that there were other alternative means through which they could support their development programs and projects, citing agriculture, real estate development and transport operation. They must explore these areas of investment to generate more funds for accelerated growth. The Rev Adu-Sekyere was performing the ceremony for work to commence on an ultra-modern building complex, being constructed by the church at Bantama in Kumasi. It has facilities for a guest house, restaurant, offices, car park and internet caf=E9. He spoke of instances where some members had complained that they were being over- burdened by constant demands on them to contribute money towards projects of the church. This tendency, he said was a big disincentive and a source of inconvenience for the poor. Mr Kwasi Afranie, a Senior Presbyter, encouraged the members to support the project.
