Apam (C/R), June 20, - A field officer of the Gomoa District secretariat of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr Stephen Agyei-Yeboah, has called on churches and identifiable groups to establish marriage counselling units to help curb the alarming rate of divorces. Addressing a forum organised by Gomoa district secretariat of the commission for hairdressers and beauticians, Mr Agyei-Yeboah said a research conducted by the commission revealed that 75 per cent of women between the ages of 18 and 40 in the Gomoa district are divorcees. He said many of the divorcees had problems in caring for their children. Mr Agyei-Yeboah said such children often become liabilities to the society and called on the national council on women and development, women MPs, The 31st December Women's Movement and other organisations to find means of getting marriages to work. He advised men who contract marriages to be responsible.
