Prophet Wisdom Yaw Addo Mireku, the leader and founder of the Pentecostal Church of Mount Sinai of Sakyikrom in the Nsawam –Adoagyiri Municipality has called on churches to establish more basic schools in their communities.

Prophet Mireku said government alone, cannot not bear all the responsibilities in establishing schools and other social infrastructure.

He made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, after launching a four-year development programme towards the construction of a six classroom block and a clinic.

The launch of the project coincided with the church’s sixteenth anniversary celebration,

Prophet Mireku said the construction of the school would enable all school going age children in the area to have access to education in the area.

Rev Amoah Agyare, the Secretary of the Church, said the project would be undertaken through communal labour by church members and supported financially through annual harvest and voluntary contributions.

Mr Frank Annoh Dompreh, the Member of Parliament for the area and Mr Mike Amoako Dompreh, the Municipal Chief Executive of Nsawam-Adoagyiri, who jointly chaired the function, commended the church members for their communal spirit.

Mr Dompreh said the Municipal Assembly would ensure that the people get portable drinking water and street lights, and that; it is also considering the construction of speed ramps to help curb the number of road crashes in the area.

He pledged to release part of his common Fund for the school project since education was his prime concern.
