Circle Girls Grabbed For Robbery

Sun, 4 Mar 2012 Source: Daily Guide

Men who patronize the services of commercial sex workers around the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra may be opening themselves up to armed robbery, as some of the sex workers are in league with robbery gangs, the Police have warned.

Two of such prostitutes, Helen Johnson, 26, and Victoria Farou, 23, both Nigerians working as prostitutes in Ghana, are currently in police grips for teaming up with a robbery gang to assault and rob unsuspecting male clients who patronize the services of the prostitutes.

The two ladies were arrested on February 27 alongside the robbers Abdella Yusif Ansah, 31, and Moses Nana ‘Jerema’ Asiedu, 38, after they had butchered and robbed an unsuspecting ‘client’ who had stripped naked with an erection on, thinking he was about to be ‘serviced’ by Victoria.

Narrating the story to DAILY GUIDE, Commander in charge of the Kaneshie District Police, Superintendent Fleance Adika, said the suspects were arrested at their hideout around 2:30pm that fateful day based on a tip-off.

The Police Commander revealed that the modus operandi of the suspects was that when a client approached any of the two ladies for sex, they would lure him to a particular hideout where the other suspects had laid ambush.

After the client had paid for the sex and removed his clothes, ready to unleash his libido, the sex worker would then prompt the other suspects to come out of their hideout to assault and rob the client.

Their ‘cup got full’ however on February 27, 2012 around 5:30am when an unsuspecting client, as usual, hired the services of Farou Victoria for one round of quick sex for which she charged him GH¢5 and collected the money.

The man then sheepishly followed Victoria to a wooden kiosk and quickly removed his clothes with his manhood nodding in anticipation of the hot sex he thought he was about to enjoy.

Interestingly, when he asked her to turn over for him to penetrate, she declined and started shouting. Immediately, her accomplices, Helen Johnson, together with four men, rushed into the kiosk and attacked the man who was then still naked with a hard on.

After giving him some beatings, the suspects attempted to rob the victim of his bag which he resisted, holding on to it as if it contained his soul.

In the process, the suspects, who were armed with a machete, slashed the man’s hand and took the bag away, leaving him to his fate.

The man, name withheld, with a bloody arm, was however rescued by a motor rider who chanced upon the scene and rushed him to the nearest hospital for treatment.

The bag was said to contain an amount of GH¢2,0230, a Nokia mobile phone, a voter identity card, a National Health Insurance Scheme card, and other personal belongings.

A report was later lodged with the police, and based on a tip-off, the suspects were arrested that same day.

Two of the suspects however managed to escape.

The Kaneshie Police Commander warned individuals, especially travelers, to be cautious about their interactions with prostitutes.
