Accra, Aug. 8, GNA - The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has issued an operating permit to the Ghana International Airlines (GIA) to code-share the Accra-Lagos-Accra route with Ethiopian Airline and Lufthansa and the Accra-Amsterdam-Accra route with KLM.
A statement in Accra on Monday, signed by Nii Adumansa-Baddo, Acting Director-General of GCAA, expressed appreciation that GIA was undergoing certification to qualify for an Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) to enable the Airlines to start operations, including flights to the United States.
The impression that GIA had not commenced the certification process as at August fourth this year was not correct, GCAA stated and said discussions for the purpose were in progress.
