Civil servants advised not to let low remuneration affect their output

Mamponteng, (Ash), Nov. 17, GNA - Civil servants have been advised not to allow the low remuneration and poor conditions of service to have a negative impact on their output at their various workplaces. Nana M. Detoh, Kwabre District Chairman of the Civil Servants Association (CSA), who gave the advice said, as professionals and implementers of government policies, such challenges should rather ginger them to give more of their best to transform the situation for the better.

Nana Detoh's advice was contained in an end of year message issued to workers at Mamponteng on Thursday.

Nana Detoh, who is also the District Town and Country Planning Officer in-charge of Kwabre and Afigya-Sekyere districts, said the job was not just about only earning money, but the professionals also putting in efforts to bring about positive transformation to the service.

He was of the strong conviction that it was only when civil servants were able to explore their professional skills and talents, to develop the system that the desired recognition and respect would be accorded them.

Nana Detoh, who was equally the Nkosuohene of Asonomaso, Safo and Nkwanta reminded the Executive Secretary of the CSA of his mission to seek solely the welfare of members of the Association, and this he should do without fear but with all urgency and boldness. While advising workers to swallow the bitter pill and give of their best, Nana Detoh said it was high time government also took up the challenge by improving upon the lot of civil servants as from 2006.
